Benefits Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Benefits Analyst will provide professional support and analysis to all functions within the department; and ensure measurement and support for special projects in the department. Document business requirements, design and configure the benefits administration system and implement file interfaces to meet client enrollment and administration needs. Administers implements and maintains HRIS Benefit systems in association with Human Resources and Payroll system functions.

 

Essential Functions

  • Creates and maintains databases to track business performance.
  • Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.
  • Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for enrollment data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.
  • Creates and publishes periodic department reports, makes necessary recommendations, and develops ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Monitors eligibility, limitations and restrictions of plan participation and ensures compliance with both plan provisions and government requirements.
  • Conduct routine and periodic audits, in conjunction with vendor, regarding compliance, costs and usage.
  • Documents system and compliance processes for training of employees and staff.
  • Provides guidance to team members, HRIS representatives and managers on the requirements and provisions of benefit programs and assist with the resolution of potential problems.
  • Maintains HRIS system and provides instruction for routine training as needed.
  • Lead annual open enrollment process including system updates, communications, meetings, testing and working with assigned vendors as needed.

Experience

  • 3-5 years operational and or data analysis experience; experience in database structures and standard query and reporting tools.
  • Previous experience administering employment benefit plans.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Ceridian/Dayforce or other HRIS preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to discreetly handle matters of confidentiality.
  • Ability to independently solve problems.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Maintains a valid driver’s license and be insurable under company insurance provider/program.

Salary: $44,000 plus BOE

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree and five year of experience in benefits administration
